Open events for Hat Porter's Social Microbes residency

Hat Porter has been working with us, Dr. Elze Hesse and the Fish Factory on their residency on Social Microbes. They have been looking at research on gut microbes and autism in the context of autistic peoples priorities for research and wider issues across the research field.

Hat is installing an exhibition at the Fish Factory from 20-24 June 2023, and there will be an opening event on the evening of 20 June, 6-8pm which anyone is welcome to. This is all free and you can find more information on the events page.

You can expect a mix of textiles work, including stitched Petri dishes with quotes from Hat's survey work, and fabric printing with Hat's own gut microbes grown in the lab as part of the residency, amongst other things... do come along!

The Social Microbes residencies are funded by UKRI as part of Elze's Future Leaders Fellowship.
