PROJECTS

Multi-Species Sward App

A system to make it easier for farmers to grow and monitor multi-species swards for more sustainable farming, increasing pollinator diversity, improving soil, and resulting in healthier livestock and less veterinary medication.

Algomech

[The] AlgoMech Festival of Algorithmic and Mechanical movement celebrates a future that is not just about using new technologies to make music, but to unmake it. It’s all about getting into the guts of how music is made, showing code running in real time, taking machines and systems apart to show their workings, and opening up technologies to alternative uses.” - Wire Magazine

Invisible Worlds Residency 2019

The 2019 Invisible Worlds Residency was open to all artists, scientists, creators and makers, to explore phenomena beyond our senses: too vast, too small, too fast, too slow or too far away in space or time.

Viruscraft

Viruscraft is a research project combining tangible interfaces, craft and computer games to explore how viruses jump from one host species to another, working with Dr. Ben Longdon.

Clearwing Butterfly Citizen Science Game

The Clearwing Butterfly game is a citizen science experiment we developed with Mónica Arias, Doris Gomez and Marianne Elias at the Centre d’Ecologie Fonctionnelle et Evolutive (CEFE) and Institut de l’information scientifique et technique in France.

Malaria Minigames

Together with Prof Matthew Higgins (university of Oxford), we developed two minigames about malaria mitigation for installations at the Royal Society Summer Exhibition 2018.

The #wasplove game

Together with Prof. Seirian Sumner at University College London, we made an open source game to allow people to build their own wasp society. Players can toy with the limits of biology and test the resilience of their wasp social structures when environmental catastrophes hit.

Invisible Worlds Residencies 2018

Invisible Worlds Residencies were a collaboration between the Eden Project and FoAM (now called Then Try This). Three residencies were chosen to take place throughout 2018: Disintigrated Rock by Rosanna Martin, ...and then we see if we will be friends by Katharina Hauke and Till Bovermann, and Ferment! by Hoon Kim, Sean Meaden and Elizabeth Fortnum.

Carnivore Mapper

A free, open source tool for recording incidents of livestock being attacked in Kenya.

Allotment Lab

The allotment lab was designed to help people with allotments or gardens to get the best from them. The app has easy to follow experiments you can follow through to give you an analysis of your soil type and work through common problems with compost heaps. In the future there will be advice given on planting based on these experiments.
