Alpaca 2025 - Algorithmic Pattern in the Creative Arts

We're excited to be hosting this conference from 12-20th September 2025, with a huge range of talks, workshops and performances exploring algorithmic patterns in the creative arts. Algorithms aren't just about computers, they're also used to make intricate patterns in traditional arts and crafts like weaving, braiding, juggling, music and choreography and in this event we'll bring all these practices together to celebrate the patterns that create deep connections between them.

The conference is all watchable online, with the first weekend focussed on talks hosted in Sheffield and streamed from there, and the second weekend focussed online but with 'watch party' hubs in Sheffield, Berlin and Barcelona.

For full details and schedule, please see the website: 2025.algorithmicpattern.org/conference

The conference is free, but please register for free tickets to the talks and the separately ticketed online workshops. The first weekend of talks is hosted as part of Alpaca Festival in Sheffield, which also features local concerts and workshop events - tickets are at low cost and some will be streamed online for free.
